Court Denies Obama Injunction

An injunction filed with the Supreme Court asking that the Electoral College be kept from voting has been denied.
Philip J. Berg, the Pennsylvania attorney who has fought a months-long court battle over President-elect Barack Obama’s birth certificate, filed an injunction on Dec. 8 requesting the court delay the votes of the Electoral College until his case could be heard.
The Electoral College gathered to cast their votes on Monday.
Initial reports by the Associated Press incorrectly stated that Mr. Berg’s entire case had been denied. By press time, the error had not been corrected.
The Supreme Court yesterday distributed Mr. Berg’s case for a conference scheduled for Jan. 9. At that conference, the justices will determine whether or not they will schedule hearings in Mr. Berg’s case. Four of the justices must vote in favor of the case before the court will accept it.
